With 2017 now full speed ahead, we wanted to provide our readers with a sampling of industry conferences coming up. Conferences are a great way to learn more about what’s happening: regulatory considerations, new technologies, field advancements, and educational opportunities. Networking is also a highlight, with plenty of time built in for socializing.

The Georgia chapter of the Air and Waste Management Association will hold its annual membership meeting on March 23. The chapter aims to promote improved environmental qualities in Georgia regarding air and waste concerns. For info, visit their website.

The Georgia Association of Water Professionals (GAWP) has planned its conference for July 16-19 at the Savannah International Trace & Convention Center. It’s also hosting an Industrial Conference & Expo in Athens on March 21-22 at the Athens Classic Center in Athens, GA. And the Spring Conference & Expo will be April 11-12 at the Jekyll Island Convention Center. The Georgia chapter of the National Waste and Recycling Association’s chief aim is to support waste and recycling industries and endeavors through leadership, education, and research. Environmentally sound and sustainable practices are a particular focus. The Alabama chapter will also hold meetings. Check their website for particulars.

The mission of the Solid Waste Association of North America—Georgia Chapter is to “educate, innovate, and communicate.” It’s holding its spring conference at the Legacy Lodge-Lake Lanier on April 3-5. For all the details visit their website.

The Georgia Rural Water Association (GRWA), a non-profit organization for Georgia’s rural drinking water and wastewater issues, will hold its 38th annual conference at the Jekyll Island Convention Center on May 9-11. Learn more on their website: http://www.grwa.org/index.cfm.

The Alabama Rural Water Association, a non-profit that represents water and wastewater systems for rural areas in the state, has planned its ARWA Annual Technical Training Conference for March 12-15 at the Mobile Convention Center. Its website has all the information.

The South Carolina Rural Water Association’s annual conference will be later in the year, September 11-13 at the Marriott Grande Dunes in Myrtle Beach. SCRWA is a non-profit trade association that offers assistance, training, education, outreach and legislative advocacy. To learn more, visit http://scrwa.org/.

The South Carolina Water Associations (http://www.scwaters.org/) comprise the South Carolina Section of the American Water Works Association (AWWA) and the Water Environment Association of South Carolina (WEASC). Working to manage water, our most important natural resource, the SCWA will hold its 27th annual South Carolina Environmental Conference on March 12-15 at the Sheraton Myrtle Beach Convention Center.

The Alabama chapter of the Air and Waste Management Association will hold its 2017 Regulatory Update on April 12, in Montgomery at the RSA Activity Center. Their website has all the details.

The Air and Waste Management Association Southern Section, which aims to encourage professional development and environmental policy, will hold its annual meeting and conference later this year, Sept, 20-22 in Nashville at the Sheraton Music City Hotel.
